People ask me all the time what kind of wedding is my favorite to shoot. I truly enjoy things about all types of weddings, but the thing that really gets me about intimate restaurant weddings is the extra nudge of spontaneity and going with the flow. If the guests are assembled and waiting at the ceremony while we go overtime on portraits, they can wait! Loving the vibe of cocktail hour? Perfect, they’ll keep pouring.
It was this spirit that made Kate & Kevin’s wedding at Bacchus the relaxed dinner party style affair that I just love. Kate got ready at the nearby Nu Hotel before we met at Brooklyn Bridge Park for a first look and some family photos. Accompanied by my favorite form of wedding day transportation: a 1960s era checkered cab from Film Cars/New York Checker, we made our way through some iconic old world Brooklyn streets before dropping the bride and groom off for their ceremony with guests awaiting.
