Ham House, Tivoli, NY
Located a couple hours North of Manhattan along the Hudson River, the fairytale, magical getaway known as The Ham House in Tivoli, NY was the perfect location for Rosie & Denver's cheerful, whimsical, romantic wedding.
No matter what the setting, I edit for color that is crystal clean and clear so that you take in the scene as it actually was.
Setting the Stage
To give a feeling of what it was like for your guests to arrive and take everything in, I’m always looking for scene setters that give an idea of the mood and atmosphere.
Very often, the ceremony is my favorite part of the day. Emotions are all gearing up for this very moment and people just can’t contain themselves. Whether it’s tears, smiles, or anything in between, I’ll be on the lookout for those raw expressions.
We Did It
The fleeting moments just after saying “I do” are some of the few times a couple might have to really be together and catch up about all that’s happened.
Whatever Happens, Happens
If it’s the hottest day of the year and your guests are sticking their feet in the pool, that’s what we’ll capture. If it’s pouring and we need to grab an umbrella and roll with it… no problem. We have four very distinct seasons in the NYC area so it usually means the weather is a guest at the wedding in some shape or form.
Make it Nice
Details are important to some couples. Details are VERY important to other couples. If it looks like you’ve been dreaming about your wedding since the day you were born, we’ll make sure to grab every little nuance that you poured over.
As the day rolls along and people settle in to a partying mood, I’ll look for your mom beaming or your best friend sharing a moment with his own soon to be wife. Your loved ones will give toasts and people will erupt with laughter. There are many memories to capture that you won’t find on any list on The Knot.
The Perfect Light
It really doesn’t take hours to get nice photos of the bride and groom. Give me 10 minutes in great light and we’ll make it happen. Rosie took the opportunity to change in to a red dress, spicing up the day and a nod to her heritage. These personal touches are what really make a wedding come alive.
As Things Get Crazy
People really start to loosen up as the sun starts to set, and I just might move in a little closer as everyone gives up and starts really being themselves in front of the camera.
She'll Dance After All
For some couples, the first dance is the … dreaded first dance. Every now and then they might just be tricked into doing one anyway, and everyone will love it.
